US Congresswoman Sarah Jacobs revealed that she has submitted a bill to cut off US arms sales to the United Arab Emirates.
Observers inside Sudan considered the move to be the first draft resolution to punish Abu Dhabi for its financing of the war in Sudan.
In a related context, in her tweet, Jakobs wrote:
” One of the fastest ways to end the war in Sudan – where 25 million people need aid, 10 million have been displaced, and 5 million are near famine – is for the UAE to stop arming the RSF. That’s why I introduced a bill to cut off U.S. arms sales to the UAE until they do so.
