The RSF Stormed “4” Headquarters of Embassies of Foreign Countries in Khartoum
In the name of Allah, the merciful, the most gracious
El Haqeeqa Magazine, Issue No. 2
A periodic electronic magazine that monitors rebel violations
Introduction
Since the outbreak of the war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in mid-April, the rebel militia has been practicing its repeated violations, violating all service facilities, killing and terrorizing unarmed civilians, and occupying their homes by force of arms, in full view of the international community, in clear and blatant violation of international and humanitarian law.
Its violations did not stop at the citizens’ property, but their malicious activities extended to the headquarters of the diplomatic missions in Khartoum.
These documented practices that the Sudanese citizen lives, moment by moment, should be classified by the international community, if they are neutral in this war, as a terrorist group, because RSF practices terrorism and violates honor, breaks prisons and demobilizes criminals convicted of various crimes, destroys and burns churches and public facilities, and arrests defenseless civilians, retired officers, as well as raping underage girls, occupying citizens’ homes and documenting and publishing them on social media platforms, so why is the international community silent about these practices, and why is the United Nations Mission “UNITAMS” headed by Volker Perthes silent about these violations?
The Sudanese people can not remain silent as they watch these immoral practices, which are not similar to Sudanese society. They are also following the silence of the international community, which has not declared its condemnation of this behaviour. The international community might be awaiting for the SAF to make a mistake to express their condemnation it, but they have no idea that the SAF have experienced war and its paths and know how to preserve society and the citizen. The SAF will not take actions that would violate human rights but rather defend human rights and honour.
El Haqeeqa is an electronic magazine that monitors and documents these violations periodically. In its second issue, it deals with the violations committed by the rebels against hospitals and turning them into military barracks, occupying citizens’ homes, destroying facilities, raping minors, burning and destroying diplomatic missions, burning and destroying churches, arbitrary arrests and acts against the law.
Rebel violations against hospitals and turning them into military barracks:
“A report issued by Al Walidein Charitable Eye Hospital and Elban Jadeed Hospital”
The administration of the Al Walidein Charitable Eye Hospital in Omdurman said in a statement that the RSF stormed the building twice. The first time, they stormed the hospital and took the generator’s fuel by force of arms. In the second, a force came to the hospital and fired a barrage of bullets at the patients’ waiting room and broke all the national and health insurance offices.
They broke into the Revenue Office’s safe and stole all the money stored there. The East Nile Hospital emergency room also announced, in a statement, that the RSF fiercely broke into Elban Jadeed Hospital, expelled the patients, and assaulted the medical staff.
Occupying citizens’ homes by force of arms and violating them, and publishing pictures on social media platforms:
A report issued by Al-Mashael Organization
Al-Mashael Organization in Sudan monitored the looting and theft of homes in Khartoum and Bahri by the RSF.
Al-Mashael said that the looted houses numbered 42,517, while the destroyed houses amounted to 16 and 41,000 apartments.
Al Amarat Resistance Committees announced in a statement, on May 23, 2023, that the neighbourhoods of Al Amarat and citizens’ homes have been turned into military barracks for the rebels.
In a statement, the Syndicate of Journalists warned the RSF against increasing attacks on journalists and their homes.
The rebels posted pictures on social media platforms showing that they occupied citizens’ homes by force of arms.
Destruction and burning of public facilities by the rebels
The RSF stormed a number of major hotels in Khartoum and stole all the money. They also looted Faisal Bank and the Islamic Bank, occupied and vandalized Corinthia Hotel, and a number of schools. The new director of Al-Manar School confirmed that the rebels occupied the school after attacking and expelling the security guard. Also, Al Mygoma Orphanage declared through a statement the death of “seven” children as a result of power outages and the destruction of water stations by the rebels.
Forcible detention of unarmed civilians and retired officers
The RSF arrested a number of civilians, retired officers, and a number of leaders of various Sudanese parties, at gunpoint, terrified them, and published pictures on social media platforms, in an act that contravenes international humanitarian law.
Increasing of Rape cases
“49 cases of rape in Khartoum and Darfur at the hands of the Rapid Support Forces”
The Unit for Combating Violence against Women and Children reported cases of rape in Khartoum and Darfur at the hands of the RSF.
The Foundation said that it had documented (25) cases of sexual violence in Darfur of women and girls between the ages of 14-56. According to the survivors’ testimony, the perpetrators were wearing the uniforms of the RSF and riding in cars with RSF plates.
In Khartoum, the Unit for Combating Violence against Women and Children stated that it documented (24) cases, where the perpetrators in (18) cases belonged to the RSF, wearing their military uniforms and in areas where the RSF are deployed, according to the survivors’ testimony.
Theft and destruction of diplomatic missions in Khartoum
The RSF stormed “4” headquarters of embassies of foreign countries in Khartoum.
Sources stated that the buildings, especially the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of South Sudan, Somalia, and the headquarters of the military attaché of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have been destroyed and diplomatic cars were stolen in unprecedented violations of the international law.
Burning and destroying churches
The Anglican Episcopal Church in Al Amarat Street 1 declared that the RSF occupied the church’s headquarters, turned it into a military barracks, broke down the doors and meeting rooms, and stole the archbishop’s carriage, and asked them to immediately withdraw from the church’s headquarters.
Rebel violations during the truce
The United States of America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on the two parties of the conflict in Sudan to “extend the current ceasefire to give humanitarian representatives more time to carry out their vital work,” according to a joint statement by Riyadh and Washington.
But the rebels have violated the truce since the first hours by attacking a number of public facilities and cutting off the electrical supply in a number of areas of Khartoum.
Rebel crimes in prisons
The rebels broke Al Huda prison, Soba prison, Kober prison, and Omdurman prison, and removed criminals convicted of various crimes, which led to an increase in crimes and lawlessness.
Popular support convoys for the Sudanese Armed Forces
The SAF preserved public property and facilities, protected civilians, and provided their essential needs during their war with the rebels. Convoys of popular support moved from the citizens in solidarity with the armed forces, and neighbourhood protection committees were formed in coordination between the citizens and the various units of the armed forces.
