This caused extensive damage, affecting the main library which contains rare historical documents. Additionally, the incident resulted in the destruction of the main hall and over a century of the church’s history. The Secretary-General of the Evangelical Church, Reverend Youssef Matar, informed “Sudan Tribune” that they were notified of the intentional burning of the church in the first district of central Wad Madani, causing severe damage. The Rapid Support Forces bear both moral and legal responsibility for the incident, given their control over the city.
